Krystal Clear Cleaning
Cleaning your oven can feel like a herculean task, especially if that oven is splattered with grease and oil. Once that grease and oil dry, it’s a real pain to get off. It’s unrealistic to keep the oven perfectly clean all of the time. Here are some of the best oven-cleaning hacks that can help you out.
It’s strange to think that you’d use flour to clean up a mess, but it’s actually amazing for soaking up grease. You want to make sure if you’ve spilled oil or grease, it’s best to clean it up right away. Let the flour absorb the oil or grease and wipe away with a damp paper towel.
Clean the Oven Naturally with Baking Soda and Vinegar
If you don’t have a bottle of oven cleaner, you can use this natural solution. Mix one-half cup of baking soda with water to create a paste. Spread the paste all over the bottom of the oven, side walls and the inside of the glass oven door but avoid the heating elements. Leave the mixture on for a minimum of two hours. Then spray it all over with a mixture of water and vinegar, the acid in the vinegar will react with the baking soda causing it to foam.
You probably have salt within an arm’s reach which is great to clean oil and grease. Much as the flour technique above, sprinkle salt onto spilled oil to absorb it and prevent grease fire.
Steam Clean your Over with Vinegar
Start by boiling one-third of a pot of water on stove. Once it is boiling, add an equal amount of white vinegar, and boil for another 30 seconds. Remove the pot and place it inside the oven on the rack and let it sit for 60 minutes. This will absorb into the grime and soften it, rather than scrubbing it.
